Erick Hiott LVT, CVT
Erick embarked on his veterinary career in general practice in 2003 as a veterinary assistant, then as a License Eligible Technician while completing his Associate’s in Applied Science in Veterinary Science Technology at Suffolk County Community College in 2006, passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) in 2007 and was granted his license to practice Veterinary Science Technology as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in State of NY. Erick worked as an LVT in Long Island, NY after receiving his license, in general practice, then in specialty hospitals assisting in Surgery, ICU, and Dentistry, eventually becoming Supervisor of the Treatment Ward and Isolation Units. He then made a move from the clinical setting to the pharmaceutical industry in NJ where he worked in Veterinary Pharmacovigilance from 2008 to 2012. There he became Department Supervisor and Senior Messaging Coordinator, and also participated in product safety and efficacy studies as a Study Monitor, authored several internal publications for Technical Services and was Guest Lecturer at several Veterinary Technology programs making presentations on veterinary parasitology. He then took a position with the ASPCA’s Animal Poison Control Center monitoring and reporting adverse drug events as a Specialist in Drug Safety. Erick is a native of New Jersey where he is a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT), a member of the New Jersey Veterinary Technicians Assistants (NJVTA) and lives there with his wife Kathleen; their son, Charlie and their Red-Nosed Pit Bull named Piper.
