Our EquiAid Emergency First Aid for Horses program provides an introductory overview of how to manage medical emergencies when they happen to horses. This class combines lecture and demonstration on models in a classroom setting.  NO live horses will be used. For more details about the class see a full description below

Registration fee is $69.95 with E-book, $94.95 with printed book

Preregistration ends 6 days prior to the class. A $5 late fee will be charged on any registrations received after the preregistration date. Also any individuals registering after the preregistration date also WILL NOT  receive their cards, certificates nor any retail at the class.  Their materials will be mailed out to them within 5-7 business days after the class is held.



Registration Includes: 2 EquiAid wallet cards, an official certificate, a 2 year subscription to our online Animal Emergency Resource Center, your choice of the 88 page full color class manual either as an E-book (View Only/Cannot be Printed) or a printed copy  (additional $24.95), businesses, organizations and groups may request a professional, frameable certificate to hang in their place of business to promote that their staff is trained.

This class in no way will teach how to administer veterinary care and is an introductory emergency first aid course for horse owners and equine professionals to learn how to manage a medical emergency until veterinary care can be ascertained.

This class is an indoor classroom style course with some demonstration of first aid skills.  Topics include:
  • Transporting and restraining sick and/or injured horses
  • How to prepare an emergency plan and first aid kit for your farm
  • How to perform triage, physical assessments including obtaining vital signs
  • Traumatic injuries such as wounds and fractures
  • How to apply an emergency splint
  • How to perform quick release ties and use safety ropes
  • Important supplies in the equine first aid kit and how to use them
  • Severe Bleeding
  • Burns
  • Eye injuries
  • Digestive Issues
  • Emergencies that happen on the trail and horse shows and more.
First aid supplies such as equine first aid kits, specialized equine thermometers, etc are available to purchase with your registration.  Visit our online store for a list of items. Items purchased up to 6 business days prior to the class will be delivered to you at the class.  Any items purchased 6 days or less will be mailed to you with your cards and certificates after the class is held.
Class qualifies for continuing education for the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International and 3 professional CEU to veterinary professionals.
