Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid Training and Certification Program Overview
Registration Includes:

Course Overview:
Our program is based on the latest animal CPR guidelines developed by emergency veterinarians. It is designed to teach participants how to provide emergency first aid to pets until veterinary care is available.
Course Format:
This is a lecture-style class with a hands-on session focused on CPR for dogs and cats.
Skills and Topics Covered:
- Safety techniques when working with sick or injured animals
- Performing emergency triage and recognizing life-threatening medical emergencies
- Restraining and transporting sick or injured animals
- Administering emergency first aid during transport to a veterinarian
- Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, CRT) and recognizing normal vs. abnormal readings
- Understanding the importance of a pet first aid kit and how to use its contents
- Managing common emergencies, including severe wounds, poisoning, burns, choking, and more
- Performing the latest industry-standard method of CPR for dogs and cats
First Aid Supplies:
Pet first aid kits, CPR masks, and other supplies are available for purchase during registration. Items ordered at least 6 days before the class will be available at the event. Orders placed within 6 days of the class will be shipped directly to your provided address.
Pre-registration:
- Ends 3 business days prior to the class date.
- A $5 late fee applies to registrations received after this period. Late registrants will receive their cards, manuals, and any retail items by mail within 5-7 business days after the class.
Certification:
Participants will receive certification in Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid.
While emergency first aid can improve outcomes in medical emergencies, we strongly recommend that pet owners seek veterinary care in all cases.
Continuing Education Credits for Dog Trainers:
- Trainers certified by CCPDT must provide their CCPDT ID# on the attendance roster to receive CE credit.
- Once received, we will submit your CEU to CCPDT within 5-7 business days.
This program is approved for:
- 3.5 CEUs for CCPDT-certified trainers
- 3.0 CEUs for members of Pet Sitters International, IACP, PACCC, and NADOI

CEU Approvals:
This program is approved to award:
- 3.5 CEUs for CCPDT-certified dog trainers

- 3.0 CEUs for members of the Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC)
- 3.0 CEUs for members of the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI)
