Instructor Role Overview
Equine First Aid Instructors with Pet Emergency Education operate as independent contractors, offering the freedom and flexibility to set your own schedule while making a meaningful impact.

All accepted candidates must complete a complimentary asynchronous virtual training and orientation program (approximately 10 contact hours). This training ensures every instructor is thoroughly prepared to teach our certification courses.

Instructor Requirements
We maintain high standards to ensure an exceptional learning experience in every class. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years professional experience in equine veterinary care, horse training, emergency response, or a closely related field.
Teaching Background: At least 1 year of teaching, training, or public speaking experience, with strong communication skills.
Professional Expertise: Instructors must be equine-focused professionalsâsuch as veterinary technicians, equine specialists, trainers, or first responders with equine emergency training.

Instructors teaching our classes are required to obtain the necessary supplies and equipment to effectively conduct their sessions. Proper equipment is essential for teaching the hands-on skills covered in our courses. A customized teaching kit is available for purchase.Â
Instructor Kit Details
The cost of an instructor kit is $499.95 and includes the following essential items:
- Large Plush Horse
- 1 set of 4 standing wraps (color varies) with 2 cotton pillow wraps
- Hoof testers

- Printed Equine Reference Guide
- Sprague Stethoscope
- Height and weight tape
- Portable monitor to display class presentation
- Personalized uniform t-shirt and banner
- Printed Equine Emergency First Aid Reference Guide
A laptop, tablet, or other device capable of connecting to the AV equipment for displaying the class PowerPoint presentation.
Independent Contractor Requirements
As per IRS guidelines for independent contractors, instructors are responsible for providing their own equipment and supplies, as well as managing their own training within their industry. Our company provides job-specific training to outline the guidelines for conducting classes and submitting work, ensuring instructors are fully prepared to succeed.
The following will be provided to contract instructors by our company:
Advertising and Marketing Assistance to find and promote classes in your local area
Strong presence on social media and promotion of the instructorâs classes on social media
Full-service office staff available for instructorsâ needs
Professional website for hosting registration pages, and information and increasing credibility
No membership fees ever
We provide all books, cards and certificates directly to the instructor or class participants, relieving any additional expense to the instructor
Discounts and promotions offered by our company directly to class participants and hosts never affect the instructorâs compensation
Eligibility to teach shelter/rescue fundraising classes with no impact on instructor’s compensation
All class and program credentials, approvals and national accreditations provided by our company
All continuing education approvals and credits will be awarded for instructors’ classes at no cost to the instructor

Contract Instructors are compensated $20 per person in the classes they teach. Classes average 8-15 people.
