The Canine Wilderness Emergency First Aid program is designed for anyone who works with dogs or enjoys outdoor adventures where veterinary care may be limited. This hands-on course teaches participants how to recognize, respond to, and manage canine medical emergencies in remote or rugged environments.

Whether hiking, camping, hunting, or engaging in other outdoor activities, you’ll gain the confidence to stabilize an injured dog and prevent conditions from worsening until professional care is available. The curriculum emphasizes wilderness-specific first aid skills such as treating wounds and fractures, managing environmental injuries like heatstroke and hypothermia, handling wildlife encounters, and safely transporting injured dogs from the field.

Continuing Education Credits for Dog Trainers:

  • Trainers certified by CCPDT must provide their CCPDT ID# on the attendance roster to receive CE credit.

  • 3.0 CEUs for members of Pet Sitters International, IACP, PACCC, and NADOI
