Frequently Asked Questions for in person classes

Will I receive a certification after the class? 

Yes, all registrants will receive an internationally recognized and approved certification. Links with certificates are sent within 48 hours after class is held.  

 

What do I receive with my registration?

Each registrant receives an eBook reference guide, an official certificate, and a two-year subscription to our animal resource center.

 

Do I need any specific supplies for the class?

You do not need any special items or supplies to attend one of our classes. For our Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid certification classes, we do encourage participants to bring a stuffed animal with them to practice on at their seats. The instructor will have professional mannequins for participants to practice CPR and test on. For Equine classes utilizing live horses, participants must dress appropriately for the weather and barn conditions; please be sure to wear durable, protective footwear.

 

Do I need to read the eBook before the class?

No. The eBook is designed to be a reference guide and can be enjoyed at any time. 

 

Can I print the eBook?

No. E-books are “View Only” documents and for copyright reasons cannot be printed. You will receive a link to view the E-Book in your email once you complete this registration process.  

 

How long are your classes?

All our in-person classes are 3 hours with the exception of our Equine First Aid for Horses class which is 4 hours. 

 

How I get tested on the material to become certified?

All students must demonstrate proficiency in the content matter. To become Canine and Feline CPR certified, you must properly demonstrate CPR on a mannequin start to finish. You may retest if necessary. 

 

How long is the certification valid and does it need to be renewed?

Our certification is valid for 2 years, which is the industry standard. 

 

What is the benefit of getting certified through Pet Emergency Education?

Our programs provide participants with critical knowledge necessary to respond to a variety of common medical emergencies that animals may encounter. We award participants a credible, recognized and veterinary industry-approved and endorsed certification. Our certifications provide valuable credentials with can be used on employment resumes, college applications, volunteer opportunities and more. 

 

Will I earn continuing education units from Pet Emergency Education?

Our classes are approved to provide 3.5 CEU to Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, 3 CEU to International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, 3 CEU to the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors, 3 CEU for International Association for Canine Professionals, 3 CEU for Professional Animal Care Certification Counsel and 3 CEU to members of Pet Sitters International. Our Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid, Canine and Feline CPR and Advanced Life Support and Equine Emergency First Aid are also approved to award RACE continuing education credits to veterinary technicians. At this time none of our classes award RACE approved CEU to licensed veterinarians.

 

Can I get a lobby certificate for my business?

Yes. Businesses, organizations and groups may request a professional, customized lobby certificate and window decal to hang in their place of business to promote that their staff/members are certified

 

What is your refund policy?

We understand that sometimes circumstances prohibit people from attending the class that they registered for.  However, we incur costs associated with the class for each participant and therefore can only issue refunds up to 72 hours prior to the scheduled class date. Refunds will be returned in the same manner that we were paid.  For example, if the registration was paid with a credit card that money will be refunded to that same credit card.  Cancellations must be made in writing, email preferred.  Be sure to include the date, time and location of the class that the participant was registered for.

 

What happens if a class is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances?

If a class is canceled due to weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances, then all paid participants will be awarded a credit that can be used to attend any future Pet Emergency Education, LLC in-person, virtual live or online class. We always do our best to reschedule the class with the host facility. We will send out an e-mail to all registrants to the e-mail address provided to us at registration if a decision is made to postpone a class. Individuals with credits may redeem their credit towards registration to a future class by emailing our office with the date, time and location of the upcoming class they would like to attend.
